- TV & Film: In the film ‘Horton Hears a Who’, who or what is Horton?
- Food & Drink: Which fruit is sometimes used to flavour pork sausages?
This trivia game can be played by solo players or team play. It is a game for 2+ players or teams, suitable for age 14+. It is a game that is played over 20 question cards (100 questions) and the team with the highest score tally at the end is the Ultimate champion.
There are 2 ways to play:
- With a Quiz Master: If playing with a Quiz Master, select one person to be the Quiz Master who will not be part of either team or answer any questions. They take 4 cards from each category – a total of 20 cards and will choose which side of the cards to use. As Quiz Master, their role is to read out the questions with the teams writing down their answers on their answer sheets. At the end of each round, teams will swap sheets for the purpose of marking (2 points for each correct answer). After the 20 cards have been used (100 questions), the team with the highest score wins.
- Without a Quiz Master: Split into 2 teams, the game is played using 20 cards per team – 100 questions (there is no reason that you can’t change this for longer or shorter games, but we found that 20 is a good number for a good game length). Each team get to choose their category and side of the card they want to attempt to answer. They are asked all 5 questions from that side of the card, calling out their answers. Teams get 2 points for a correct answer, 1 point for a nearly correct answer (should it be allowed) and if a team gets a question incorrect it is offered to the opposing team for 1 bonus point (the reader of the question obviously can’t get involved in the answer). The team with the highest score total after 20 cards are the Top Trivia Ultimate champions.
