Big 6 is the ultimate game night showdown. Can you outbid and outwit your friends and family in a naming game bidding war? Big 6 is not just a game; it’s a test of wits, a duel of decision-making, and a clash of quick thinking. The premise is simple: outbid your rivals to win cards, but here’s the twist – you must do so with a keen sense of timing and strategy. It’s a game that will have you on the edge of your seat, as you try to outsmart your opponents and become the ultimate bidding trivia champion.

The game has 288 cards, spread out over 6 topics; Words, Numbers, People, Places, Things and Random – with 4 questions per card that gives a whopping 1152 topic questions. To win the game players must win the 6 different colours of topic cards (or 6 cards of the same colour). How many food dishes associated with Japan can you name? And will a rival outbid you? How about famous people that died at the age of 27 or South American countries that don’t end with the letter A? Outbid the other players and come up with that number of answers within 30 seconds to win the card. Finally some of that useless knowledge floating around in your head becomes very useful.

To play, a player takes a card from the front of the box (each card has 4 topics from one of the 6 themes). They roll the die and read out the topic from the card, to everyone, that matches that number. With the topic read aloud, the timer is turned over and players have 30 seconds to get their bids in on how many answers they think they will get right – unless the reader bids the Big 6 and bidding stops. The highest bidder then has to give their predicted answer total within 30 seconds – turn the timer over and start giving your answers. Get your predicted number spot on and win the card, fail and your lose the card along with an extra one you have won (if you have any). If you are outbid by another player and they hit the target, they get to keep the card and can steal a card from your hand (if you have won any).

And to add in a bit of extra fun, if a card has a black dot next to the topic you hare answering the question is not read out loud for players to make a bid on – the player reading the card obviously knows what the question is to be able to make their bid but the other players will only know the topic and must make their bids blind.

Overall, Big 6 is a simple game to play but lots of competitive fun. Roll the die, read the question and bid on how many you will be able to name, hopefully not getting outbid by a rival and then getting them all correct.

Some of the questions can be quite tough, some even obscure, but that’s what makes it make fun and interesting as you cannot bid zero. And to make it that more inclusive for younger players, they can choose their topic off the card rather than rolling the die, giving them more of a chance of being able to give answers on something that they know about.

Cheatwell Games has crafted a gem of a game with Big 6. It’s a game that will make your game nights memorable, filled with strategic gameplay, social interaction, and a healthy dose of adrenaline. If you’re looking for a game that’s easy to learn but challenging to master, that’s as much about psychology as it is about strategy, then Big 6 is the perfect addition to your collection.

So gather your friends and family, sharpen your minds, and get ready to bid and outbid your way to victory. Big 6 is not just a game; it’s the highlight of your next game night. Let the bidding war begin!

We enjoyed playing Big 6, they is no setup needed and you can play straight out of the box. The questions are wide and varied. As it is a naming game the answers are always going to be different as well so the replay value is excellent. A fun social game.
