Best of Kids

We love to play quiz games in our house, but a lot of quiz games are not always family friendly – the questions are either too difficult for the kids or far too easy for the adults. It can make family quiz games rather boring. Board games should be fun and not leave players feeling board, sorry, I mean bored, especially when it comes to games for children and families. The Best of Kids Mini Game, from the LOGO family of games, is a smaller version, a ‘taster’ version if you like, of the full game of the same name and is great fun for kids and families.

The Best of Kids Mini Game is a quiz / trivia board game for 2 teams of players, age 7+. Players must answer questions to be able to move their playing piece around the board to reach the Winning Zone and be first to get there to win the game.

In the box:

  • 58 Question Cards
  • 2 Playing Pieces
  • Playing Board
  • 2 Rules Cards / Instructions

Setting up the game is very simple. The questions cards are shuffled and placed face down (question side down) in the centre of the table. Players are split into two teams and each team takes a playing piece (red or blue) and places it on START on the board. As I said, very simple to set up.

To play, the team with the youngest player gets to start. The youngest player for this round becomes the Question Master and takes the top card from the deck, which have various topics or images, but must not let anyone else see the questions. The Question Master reads out loud the first question on the card (there are four questions per card). For example, on a Pot Luck card the first question could be ‘What song is sung more than any other in the world and is also sung to you once a year?’ If the opposing team answer correctly the move to the next space on the board that matches the colour on the question. A wrong answer or a pass means that a player from the Question Masters team gets the chance to answer for a bonus. The Question Master then continues to ask the opposing team the remaining three questions from the card. When all questions have been asked and answered, pieces moved on the board, the opposing team becomes Question Master and continues. The first team to answer enough questions to move their playing piece around the board into the Winning Zone and answering a final question wins the game.

Overall, The Best of Kids is a fun family friendly game with questions that are child-friendly but without being too easy. It is also perfect for adults to play with the children. The questions are on a wide range of topics from TV and films, songs, maths, words ending in …, famous footballers and lots more. The questions are all exclusive to the mini game version so if you decide to opt for the full size game later the questions will be different.

This is a mini game and the board is a lot lot smaller than a normal board game, a bit like a giant cookie. But despite the board and question cards being a lot smaller, the cards are easy to read and the board is easy to move around.

The Best of Kids is a fun all-inclusive family trivia game. It is excellent fun, a very entertaining and enjoyable family quiz game. Families will have a great time playing it together and the kids can even play amongst themselves. With over 200 questions there is plenty of playability in the game.

This is a perfect quiz game for families with children. Lots of fun with the questions pitched at a good level.
