Fact or Fake Ultimate

In our house we not only love playing games but also love gadgets and learning new things. So combining an electronic game with some educational fun is an excellent way to turn a love of learning into sustained engagement, and Fact or Fake? Ultimate, from Bear Faced Games, embraces that approach with a compact, buzzy confidence. The Fact or Fake? Ultimate device is an electronic quiz master turning true-or-false, yes-or-no, trivia into a speedy, social challenge that rewards quick thinking and sparks conversation.

Fake or Fake? Ultimate is an electronic quiz game featuring over 1000 questions / statements. It’s suitable for 1-5 players, age 7+ and has a playing time of around 20 minutes. It asks a question (statement) which is either a real fact or a fake one and players have to quickly guess right to score points. It doesn’t have a rechargeable battery, it does require 3xAAA batteries (some supplied in the unit) to play.

The Fact or Fake electronic game is a very colourful one-piece base unit that features 5 different coloured large button (one for each player) as well as a green button (fact) and red button (fake).

To play, turn on the unit by moving the switch underneath the unit to the volume level you want (there are two levels). Select the number of players, each pressing a coloured button. When each player (up to 5) has selected their colour, press the green button and you are ready to start (you also get the option to press the green button again to get more information about your answers). A series of questions are then asked, with the unit flashing the colour of the player that needs to answer and they press the green or red button to register their fact or fake answer, scoring points for each correct answer. The winner is the player with the highest points total.

Fact or Fake

Overall, we found this not only to be a fun and engaging game, but a very informative one for players of all ages – did you know about some sharks that have luminous bellies?, I didn’t! The audible prompts transforms a simple quiz game into an interactive group exercise where reaction time matters as much as factual knowledge. And it is so easy to use (and has no screen – what a bonus).

With over 1000+ questions, there is plenty of content which is either a fact or a fake statement. It produces a steady rhythm of questions that keeps energy levels high, listening skills tuned in and attention focused. The pace of the game forces fast decision-making, which is precisely where the learning benefit lies: players rely on prior knowledge, deduction and sometimes educated guesswork – which also makes it great for follow up questions between players on some of the surprising answers, a great conversation starter as well as a game.

We love that is can be played as a group game as well as a solo game (trying to beat the highest score that it tells you at the start of play). It is an engaging example of how simple electronics can enhance playful learning. An excellent catalyst for curiosity, debate and shared discovery while allowing players to go on to study some of the surprising factual information further should they want to. Families who want a screen-free and energetic quiz game that encourages quick thinking, group interaction and even solo play will find this a welcome addition to their family game nights.

We think that Fact or Fake? Ultimate is an excellent trivia game, basically a Yes or No game, that is very informative and lots of fun to play. Can you figure out what is Fact or Fake? Some of the answers are going to surprise you!
