Yes, we are heading into that spook-tacular time of year again when we all get to be kids, dressing up and scaring ourselves silly for fun! You’ve done your trick-or-treating and bobbed for apples so it’s time to dust off the cobwebs from your collection of Halloween games. So, let’s set the scene for an unforgettable Halloween game night. Imagine this: The lights are dimmed, and jack-o’-lanterns flicker with mischievous grins. A playlist of eerie tunes whispers in the background, setting the mood for a night of playful scares. You and your friends gather around, each donning a costume more outlandish than the last – there’s a vampire with a fear of blood, a werewolf who’s lost his howl, and a mummy who’s, well, a little unravelled. Time for a game of super scary, err… Halloween Bingo … maybe not so super scary, but still lots of fun.
Boo! Did you hear that? That’s the sound of Halloween Bingo creeping up to spook your socks off! This isn’t your grandma’s bingo; it’s a ghoulish game that promises to be the life (or should I say ‘afterlife’?) of any Halloween party.
In the pack:
- 20x Bingo Cards (Double Sided)
- 40x Bingo Caller Images
- Bingo Caller Box
- 4x Bingo Winner Certificates
This version of Halloween bingo is a paper and card version. It has 20 double-sided bingo cards, enough for 2 games if you had 20 players (although if you wanted to prolong the use, you could use counters instead of marking the bingo cards).
The game is easy to set up, which is great because who wants to be fumbling around when there are ghosts to summon and Halloween sweets and snacks to munch? The kit comes with everything you need: bingo cards, caller images, and even winner certificates for those lucky enough to survive – I mean, win. Firstly, the Caller Box needs assembling, but this is a few seconds as it is just a matter of folding the flaps. The Caller Images need to be popped out of the perforated sheet (carefully), shuffled as best you can and popped into the Caller Box. Give the box a shake to mix them up some more. Players are given a bingo card (they will need a pen, pencil or marker of some sort to mark off called images they have on their sheet).
As for the actual gameplay, it’s bingo with a Halloween twist. Instead of numbers, you’re marking off items like ‘Witch’ and ‘Ghost’. And the caller? They’re not just calling out squares; they’re weaving a tale of horror and suspense with each item. It’s like if Vincent Price and Vanna White had a Halloween love child.
If you mark off all the Halloween-themed items on your card first, you’re the winner and will receive a Winners Certificate (there are 4 in the pack).
Overall, it is a simple addition to your Halloween festivities. It’s fun and entertaining and is really a game that you will probably only play once or twice for Halloween and probably throw away, but the price reflects that at only £2.99. The components are paper and card so are not going to last for years of play (usually you’re EXTREMELY careful).
We think that for a children’s Halloween-themed party, it’s a quick game for some spooky fun. The images on the cards are very child-friendly and are not going to scare even the most timid of players.
So, if you’re looking to add some spirit to your Halloween party, Halloween Bingo might just be the ghoulish game for your young players. Just remember, it’s all in good fun – no actual ghouls included. Happy haunting!
